Yaşlı adamın tek arkadaşı, gri tüyleri güneşte gümüş gibi parlayan kedisiydi. Her sabah birlikte denize giderler, yaşlı adam olta atarken kedi de yanındaki kayalıklarda güneşlenirdi. Gün batıp hava soğumaya başladığında eve dönerlerdi. Akşam yemeklerinde yaşlı adam ona balık verir, kedi de mırıldanarak mutlu bir şekilde yerdi.

English Translation:
The old man's only friend was his cat, whose gray fur shone like silver in the sun. Every morning, they would go to the sea together. The old man would cast his fishing rod, while the cat would sunbathe on the nearby rocks. When the sun set and the air turned cold, they would return home. For dinner, the old man would give the cat some fish, and the cat would eat happily, purring.
One morning, when the old man woke up, he felt weak. He tried to get up, but he couldn't. The cat must have seen him, because it rushed to him, meowing anxiously. The man barely managed to say, "Go, son, get help," before touching the cat.
The cat immediately dashed out and ran towards the village. Seeing children playing in the village square, it meowed and led them to the old man's house. When the children saw the old man sick, they quickly called the adults.
The doctor examined the old man and gave him medicine. The villagers, learning that he was alone, brought him food and firewood. Thanks to the help brought by his cat, the old man began to recover.
